"Flexible Sigmoidoscopy Procedure"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

I attended the Day Case Unit at Dr Grays Hospital Elgin in January 2016.

I was there to have a Flexible Sigmoidoscopy Procedure carried out. From the moment I reported to the receptionist, I was made to feel welcome.

The nurses who looked after me were wonderful, relaxing me and making sure I was alright. The theatre staff who carried out my procedure were also very pleasant, explaining what was going to happen and ensuring I was comfortable. In all, it was a pleasant experience, and I felt that all the staff in this unit were a credit to the hospital and NHS Scotland.

Thank you to them all.

Response from Linda Oldroyd, Nurse Consultant, Person Centred Care, NHS Grampian

Dear patient

Many thanks for taking the time to post your feedback. It is great for staff to get such praise and especially on Patient Opinion for all to see.

We will make sure that everyone concerned is made aware of your kind words. They have clearly done a great job of turning what could have been an unpleasant experience into one which left you with such a sense of well-being.

Many thanks again.

Dear Linda

Thank you for responding to my story, I am only too happy to spread the word about my experience at the Hospital. There are too many stories going round putting the hard working staff down for one reason or another, so I felt that people should know how pleased and happy I was.
