"The level of care I experienced from everyone was exceptional"

I was sent from my GP in Skye to A&E in Raigmore because of a severe infection. From arriving in A&E to seeing the doctor, I was inside for 35 minutes. Within 90 minutes of arrival I was in theatre. I spent 7 days in Raigmore Hospital and had 3 washout operations on my hand. The level of care I experienced from everyone in the wards, A&E and theatre was exceptional. I was meeting with consultants, junior doctors, nurses and trainees. Every one of them was helpful and polite. Although I was in a single room, all staff popped by to check I was ok and see if I needed anything. Apart from the operations, pain and eventual amputation, it wasn't an unpleasant stay. I could not fault any level of service or care I received.
