"Gynocologist"

About: Dorset County Hospital

I visited the gynaecology department on the 6th December 2015 for a 11.10am appointment. I waited 2 hours to be seen. The nurses and receptionist were lovely and informative. They even called the traffic warden to inform them not to give my car a ticket! But the consultant gynaecologist was awful. The consultant did not want to listen, they were impatient, arrogant. I left in tears. I still feel so upset about my treatment from the consultant........

I am sorry to read of your experience with the Gynaecologist and that the interaction left you in tears, this is not how I would want any patient using our services to feel and is not in line with our Trust Values.

I was however pleased to read that the nurses and receptionist were lovely.

I would like to be able to investigate further and find out what went wrong and how we can learn from your experience. If you feel able to share your experiences in more detail with us I would be grateful if you could contact our PALS service on 0800 7838058 or pals@dchft.nhs.uk. Once again, I sincerely apologise for the negative experience you had whilst in our care

Best Wishes, Sarah Silverton, Patient & Public Experience Lead, Dorset County Hospital
