In 2012 I was sent to the Cassel hospital. After being in mental health services for 5 years I was broken. I hardly spoke, I looked no-one in the eyes and was self harming so badly I had ended up on at least three occasions in the physically intensive care unit at Charing Cross hospital.
The Cassel for last 3 and half years have helped me to understand why I became mental ill. They did this with care, compassion, openess, honesty and challenging.
And I want to thank the patients who helped as well as the staff. My recovery has been so remarkable that in March I will not have self harmed in anyway for 2 years.
The Cassel in my opinion has saved my life and is a wonderfully unique place within mental services and treated me as a beautifully unique individual who has flaws and weaknesses but also has great strengths.
To the Cassel Hospital, keep up with the amazing great work you are doing because you are saving lives and my heart overflows with thanks that you saved mine.
