What could be improved
Waiting times in triage on the labour ward are terrible. I've been unlucky enough to be sent here twice by my Midwife this pregnancy, and each time the wait to see a doctor has been extremely long and very stressful.
At my first visit in October 09 my partner and I spent over 7 hours in the waiting room before being moved to a bed in triage. We then spent another 2 hours waiting to see a doctor - over 9 hours total wait before receiving treatment.
Today (Dec 09) I have waited over 4 hours to see a doctor (and still waiting).
Nurses & Midwives have been very pleasant but where are all the doctors? My experience makes me believe there are serious staffing issues on this ward.
