About: The Whittington Hospital The Whittington Hospital London N19 5NF

In early December my husband was admitted to your hospital with a fractured leg and pelvis. fractures normally, from what I have been told take 5 to 6 weeks to heal. After 2 weeks you intended to send my husband aged 80 years, back to a tiny cramped flat and just myself as carer. My husband has vascular dementia and normally walks with the aid of a zimmer frame at home. the hospital was informed of the fact that it was inadvisable to send him home until he was back to his previous level of mobility.
I had to get our G.P and the Social Worker to fight your terrible decision. After discussion it was decided that a period of convalescence before returning home was the best way to proceed, in my husband's case.
A place was sought that could take him, and this place had to have hospital bed facilities.
Instead of waiting for confirmation of a placement for my husband , your hospital ghosted him out to a home that was in no way prepared for him and had no bed.
Obviously, unlike the Whittington, this home showed compassion and made up a space for him. A man who has worked all his life and paid into the NHS for 65 years to be bundled about like a bag of rubbish. Dignity what dignity...After speaking to other people in the community I found that your hospital has a terrible reputation amongst the public and UCH is the hospital a lot of people prefer.
|I am thoroughly disgusted by your 'care ' and hope to god I never have need of your service personally as I know how I can expect to be treated.
Where is the caring service nurses and doctors like to spout about or is it only the celebs who get it?
