9th December 2015, broke my left wrist and little finger on my right hand. i was impressed that the assessing nurse got my little finger ex-rayed as well as my wrist or an injury might have been missed.
We did have to wait to be seen, but once we went through to be assessed, i was ex-rayed and seen fairly quickly.
the only negative is that i should have been offered pain relief as the ex ray and having the temporary splint put on was really very painful.
i was given appointments the next day for the fracture clinic and hand clinic, this was was very efficient.
on the following Monday,
I felt so ill, my husband phoned 111, they advised us to go to A&E, they did blood tests/ ecg/ temp/ blood pressure lying and standing and gave me a drip. they gave me a warm blanket as I was so cold even though my temp was normal. i was able to go home after.
I had a further outpatient appointment in the hand clinic on Christmas eve.
With each of my visits, I have been treated courteously and efficiently.
I want to thank All of the staff at the Derby Royal for my care so far. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication.
