"I was addmitted to Ward D for ..."

About: Wrightington Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was addmitted to Ward D for an Arthroscopy Operation even though there was a problem with not getting a bed the situation was dealt with very quickly, all the staff were very helpful and made you feel at ease and did all addmission formalities with dignity and respected confidentialty. Once back from surgery & recovery they did all relevent checks very quickly, and nothing was too much trouble. There must be more corespondence between doctors, nurses & patients as I was told I would only be a day case & having only taken with me the clothing that was stated on the addmission letter (Slippers & dressing gown) I found out that I would be in over night (and it would have been a 35 mile round trip for a family member to bring them) so I had no night gown or pyjamas or toiletries.

What could be improved

More blankets as the heating goes of half way through the night and with there being a very cold spell at the time of my addmission the blanket and sheet were insufficiant.
