"Midwifes on maternity assessential clinic and..."

About: Leeds General Infirmary

I gave birth to my baby boy on the 18th September 2015 at the lgi, I was in hospital since the 16th in the MAC as my waters went and staff there kept me in for monitoring. Whilst in MAC the staff were amazing so calming and attentive as well as the student midwifes who cared for me. The ward was extremely busy but the staff were brilliant with me and the other patients on the ward. They made us feel like they had all the time in the world for us even though they were rushed off their feet. When been transferred to the delivery suite I was then put in the care of a midwife who really is a credit to the NHS as they provided such a high level of care. They answered any questions me and my partner had. They were so polite and we'll mannered and made us laugh, they made is feel so comfortable and really went out of their way to make sure my labour went the best it possibly could. This midwife was reassuring and positive and was even there for my partner as he was a nervous reck. They delivered our baby boy and even took the time after to help me breastfeed. Not once did I feel uncomfortable with them as they were so natural and straightforward. I couldn't of asked for a better midwife and they really do deserve some recognition of what an amazing person they are and that the way they were has made me have such a positive experience! Afterwards the midwife gave us some time with our little boy before taking us to a mother and baby ward. The ward was lovely and clean and the staff there were also lovely. My baby was struggling to maintain his temperature and the staff were so attentive and always checking on us. The work they do here is life changing and the experience you have sticks with you for life. I am so thrilled to say I have had the best experience I could have hoped for and the staff working here do a fantastic job. They should be so proud.

Dear Jodie,

Congratulations on the birth of your little boy.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to post regarding your experience, It was very uplifting and heart-warming to read.

I have passed your post onto the Matrons for obstetrics and asked that they share your post with their teams so that they can too be made aware of the great work that they are doing.

with kind regards
