"A&E were first class!"

About: Good Hope Hospital

Having had a fall on Tuesday, I attended A&E yesterday because my foot was painful and swollen.

After a relatively short wait I was seen by the Nurse Practioner.

They assessed me thoroughly and sent me to X- Ray.

I was then returned to the Nurse Practitioner, who told me that I had a fracture.

They quickly found an appropriate "boot", fitted it, gave me follow up advice and sent me back to reception where I was given an appointment at the "Fracture Clinic" for next week.

The receptionist arranged a taxi to take me home, having asked the Taxi Driver to come in so that I wouldn't have to wait outside in the cold!

I couldn't have asked for better care.

I was also impressed at the kindness which I experienced from everyone whom I met.

I was back home in under 3 hours from when I had originally set out.

Thank you for your feedback following your visit to Accident and Emergency at Good Hope Hospital.

I am so pleased to read that you were dealt with professionally, seen and assessed and discharged home with appropriate follow up arranged.

Our team at Good Hope Hospital Emergency Department work very hard to provide a positive patient experience in often difficult circumstances and I will be delighted to forward your feedback to Dr Arne Rose, Associate Medical Director at Good Hope Hospital, Dr Ola Erinfolami, Clinical Director for Emergency Services, as well as Angela Birmingham, Matron for Emergency Services who will all be thrilled to read your feedback and ensure that it is communicated to all of the team.

I do hope you are continuing to recover from your foot injury and have continued to receive good care in your management and follow up.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to provide your comments, patient feedback is extremely important to us.

With kind regards

Marie Helebert
