"Thank you Check it out Campaign for making this possible"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

On the 27th I went to a Panthers V Steelers match at the Nottingham ice Arena. I was excited when I got my invitation on Christmas Day but the day out was amazing. I went for a meal with other patients and staff and then I went to the arena. We got taken up in a lift to the VIP section and there were even waiters waiting to take drink orders. The view was great and the atmoshphere was even better. We had snacks and drinks and watched a great game of hockey. I was happy that the panthers won! I talked to some of the other people in the box and they were really nice. We shared chocolate with them and sang when the Panthers scored. At the end of the match we got asked who the MOTM was. I chose Number 10 and that is who they gave it too. I really would like to come again and maybe get a Panthers shirt to show my support! ! Thank you Check it out Campaign for making this possible, I didnt think I would get to do anything like this.

Hello, my name is Jane Danforth. My role involves helping our service users, volunteers and staff to understand that Notts Healthcare wants to hear stories about our services. We reply to every story and it really helps us to improve what we do, how we do it and to hear about what works well too.

Thank you for sharing your story about The 'Check it Out Campaign'. I'm really pleased to hear you were given the opportunity to attend via the Trust and enjoyed the experience. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of mental health and the promotion of health and well-being This provides a much needed opportunity for patients, families and carers to go to the match which has been really successful.

You don't say what ward or hospital you are staying at and we would like to be able to thank the staff who made it possible for you to go. I will pass this story on to the organiser of the campaign to find out.

Wishing you all the best for 2016

Jane

Throughout the campaign, free information and advice about mental and physical healthcare is available on the NHS stand at games throughout the season. Staff from the Trust will be on hand for help and support around a number of health topics.”
