"Death of one of our residents"

I am absolutely disgusting with derriford hospital. One of our residents has been in hospital for the last 3 weeks and we kept ringing to keep getting updates. We rang ongoing yesterday to find out what ward this specific resident was on, we had no answer all day. We then got through today and have been told that he had died last week, we were not notified in any way and we are also his next of kin so we should have been. I am ashamed to say you are my local hospital but you cannot take the time to call our care home and notify everyone who cares about him that he has passed away. We could have prepared and help preparation for his funeral. This is appalling behaviour for a hospital.
