"Waiting Time"

I have to say that I have no complaint about Halton Hospital itself;
I wish to ask why it takes two weeks to receive a prescription from my GP after seeing an urologist at Halton Hospital ?
If my GP can give a prescription whenever
I need one, then why can't the consultant do so ?
