"Dinners could have a bit more variety"

I love coming to the day centre. I was never out before as I can’t walk much distance. The bus comes for me and takes me home and I get the company at the centre for a wee while.

The lassies are very attentive, kind and helpful. Anything you need they’ll get it for you.

I think the dinners could have a bit more variety – I would like more food like we’re used to. I’ve never eaten pizza or spaghetti bolognese before. I don’t want to complain about it, the meals are good enough for people that like that food, it just doesn’t suit me.

It’s challenging getting out on other days. To get to a doctor’s appointment I need to pay for a taxi to get there and back. My son has a car and takes me to the shops every once in a while and I have a wheelchair I can use for this. I can’t go out in my wheelchair normally though as my husband is not fit enough to push me.

I'm quite content sitting in the house but I like to get out sometimes.
