"Unprofessional nurse disgusted me"

About: Gravesham Community Hospital

I took my mother in law of 93 years old in miu on wed 16th dec 2016 about 19.15 and asked someone to check her because she was having chest pains and left shoulder pains, the receptionist called a nurse through who just told me to "take her to daren't valley" I asked tbe nurse to look at her and and they shouted over to my mother in law , who was slumped in a chair " any heart problems in the past?" I said we were not sure and could they please quickly check her? Their answer was " we can book her in but she wi have to wait to be seen and we will only be sending her to daren't valley so it is up to you" They then walked away! I took her to daren't valley where they confirmed she was having a heart attack! This will be going to the highest office of complaint, my mother in law is an inpatient at the time of writing and in a bad way , at no time did the nurse come into the waiting room, they shouted over the receptionist head the whole time

Hello

We are extremely sorry to hear of the poor experience you and your mother in law received in Gravesham MIU last Wednesday, following which your mother in law was admitted to hospital.

Your account of what happened obviously falls way below the level of care and compassion we would expect from our staff and this kind of behaviour is simply not acceptable.

Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team with further details so that a full investigation can take place.

Best wishes
