"Maternity Care - Hypnobirth"

Just had to come online to review the care and attention we received Nov 2015 whilst we gave birth to our daughter. I say 'we' as my husband and I were both treated with the utmost care and respect by all members of staff we encountered on the delivery suite, and also on the day unit in the week leading upto the birth.

A special mention to your Hypnobirthing Speciailist Midwife, who inspires and motivates and empowered us to take control and have the birth we wanted for our daughter. We did her classes and were a little daunted at first as we weren't sure what to expect, but we are so, so pleased we did. The hypnobirthing concepts were just what I was after, and my husband found all the education and information invaluable. He ended up being the most amazing birth partner because of it. I started my journey a worried and anxious mum-to-be and the hypnobirthing really chilled me out and allowed us to work as a coiuple supporting each other during this special journey.

We made a birth plan which was fairly specific, and found everyone very respectful and accommodating.

During delivery I was cared for by a very respectful, supportive and encouraging midwife, who was brilliant. Every care and attention was paid to us.

We were supported to have a beautiful water birth, and all the staff worked hard to ensure we managed to get the birth we wanted. Our daughter arrived in the pool, and my husband and I were left to enjoy cuddle and skin to skin time with the midwife on hand, but no pressure to take baby away for checks straight away. This enabled us a few precious moments to enjoy our daughter and bond as a family.

The facilities were great as well, we enjoyed our spacious room with all the active birthing kit, and were then later moved to the lovely pool room. My only tiny criticism is that there was only one chair in the pool room.

Overall, we cannot thank all the staff enough. We have a beautiful daughter, and fond memories of a very special experience of our birthing journey.

I cannot recommend North Tees Delivery suite highly enough, Many thanks to all staff who cared for us! They are an absolute credit to their profession and to the trust. Lots of love, x
