"Ridiculous waiting times"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

I've had braces on for nearly 2 years now but my teeth have been ready for surgery for well over 6 months. Every time I ring and ask if it's any closer they say "the end of this year", "the start of next year" and last of they vaguely said "summer next year". It's affecting my mental health, relationships, and I can't apply for any jobs involving travel because I need to stick around in the hope that at some vague point in the future they we will contact me for my operation.

I’m sorry to hear you have not been given a definitive date for your surgery.

I can’t provide a more detailed answer without more details from you. If you would like to get in touch with me personally I’d be happy to look into your situation.

You can contact me at keith.girling@nuh.nhs.uk.

Dr Keith Girling, Divisional Director, Surgery
