My mother had a fall yesterday afternoon in her care home. She was taken to NDDH A&E as there was some concern that she had a possible head and hip injury. Once she got to A&E she was dealt with quickly and the staff were fantastic. My mother was quite confused and became less co-operative over time, but the doctors and nurses were brilliant at making her feel better. We were kept well informed by a young FY2 doctor named Steve at every stage and all the staff were friendly and cheerful. Thankfully my mother's scans were clear and she was able to get back home within a few hours! Transport back to to her care home was arranged very quickly and arrived within 10 minutes!
My only suggestion would be to install a wifi service within the A&E department. I had no phone signal and couldn't contact any other relatives to keep them updated without leaving my mother and going outside the hospital. Wifi would help with this. Thank you for making a traumatic experience as smooth, pleasant and effective as could be.
