"Long wait time in children's a&e for no..."

About: Lister Hospital

Took my child into the paediatric a&e this morning with regards an allergic reaction. Receptionist on main reception was very rude and unwelcoming! We have now been here over 5 hours and still no update as to how long were likely to be here. Had to explain the 'problem' to at least 4 different doctors who all took notes in the same book! The waiting wouldn't be as bad if they were able to update you at least every few hours! The doctors themselves have been pleasant enough but it doesn't make up for the lack of communication!

It has been particularly quiet here today and have often seen nurses/doctors standing about laughing!

All I can say is I'm lucky that I have a well behaved 4 year old or this experience could have been even worse!!

We're sorry that you've had to wait for longer than we would like and for the lack of communication about what's happening. We hope that you were seen finally and that your child got the treatment they needed.
