I want to thank the staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital who were great in the run up to the birth of my daughter on 7 November, and also the amazing midwives at the Greenwich Birth Centre.
I transferred late in pregnancy to QEH because we moved home, and the midwives and consultants quickly fit in all the necessary appointments, often seeing me (it seemed) before the first appointment or after the last appointment of the day.
The facilities in each of the rooms at the Birth Centre are really brilliant - without the space to move around, the pool, the en suite loo, etc., it would have been much harder to have a natural birth, but in the Birth Centre, they really have thought of everything to make the process as comfortable as possible.
The midwives at the Birth Centre were fantastic - they really listened to my past experience with baby number one (at a different hospital), and took into account the emotional and physiological issues I had that had made the first birth (and aftermath) a bit difficult, in order to make this birth a much more pleasant experience. After the arrival of our baby girl, they were supportive without being intrusive, and they were very welcoming when our older child came to visit.
Thank you!
"lovely experience at Greenwich Birth Centre"
