"The Men's group- I'm Happy!"

About: Ashfield Community Learning Disability Team; Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I was asked to write down this feedback by a member of the group.

'This group is alright, you get a bit of fun. I was taught to wash up but I hate it! I play on my computer in my bedroom but I'm a bit bored at home. When we eat together in the group I feel a bit more better.

I find transport hard as we don; t have a car at home. I would like to do some transport training. If I was able to use public transport I would go out more. We have done cooking and road safety in the group.

I like to wind up the staff! Both Pauls are ok I think..I'm happy!

Dear Men's Group member.

Thank you for your feedback and honesty, the information you provide helps us to plan and deliver future services. We are pleased to hear you have found the men’s group enjoyable and we thank you for all the hard work and support you have provided. Paul and I will pass on your feedback to our manages and will do everything we can to keep supporting you now that the group has finished. You should feel very proud of the work you have accomplished, even if sometimes it’s not always the most pleasant of task. I understand you would like to receive travel training in the future so this is something I can liaise with your social worker and parents with on your behalf. I will be coming to see you and your family after Christmas and we can talk about it then if you like? In the mean time keep up all the hard work (even the washing up.)
