"Praise all round for Rochdale"

About: Rochdale Infirmary

(as the patient),

After referral from my GP for an ongoing bowel problem, I was referred to Mr Afify's Out-Patients clinic, at Rochdale Infirmary, in less than 2 weeks. Within another two weeks I had undergone MRI, CAT scan and colonoscopy. I was admitted the following week for surgery and stayed on Springfield Ward. I have nothing but praise for all the staff I had contact with throughout the process, from the Consultants to the Ward Cleaners, everything was explained and I was fully consulted all along. Nothing was ever too much trouble and the Ward Staff, although incredibly busy, were caring, sensitive and very professional.

The food was quite good and my whole stay was made as comfortable as possible. My only 'moan' and it is a small one! - visiting times particularly in the afternoon could have been a little more flexible - maybe 1.00pm till 4.30. My poor hubby had no sooner got home than he was turning round for the evening visit. It would also give families time to help out feeding the elderly patients who struggled on their own. Apart from that little grumble, thank you to all the staff at Rochdale, in particular Springfield ward for your care.
