"Minor Injury Unit"

About: Victoria Central Hospital

Infected and very swollen thumb. I was very nervous about visiting the unit. The receptionist was welcoming and professional. Although the unit was very busy for a Sunday afternoon I was seen be a triage nurse after about 20 minutes. I was put at my ease by them and was then seen by a practice nurse within the hour. The nurse was fantastic. They explained what was wrong, how they could fix it and how I would feel after the treatment. The nurse was very professional and picked up on my nervousness. The nurse again put me at ease and got on with the procedure. Fantastic professional staff and a credit to the NHS. Can't praise them enough.
