"Colonoscopy experience"

About: Nuffield Health, Chichester Hospital

The nursing and administration staff were friendly, kind and professional. The surroundings were very pleasant, comfortable and clean.

However, my consultant was almost breathless they seemed so rushed. A nurse seemed shocked that I waited so long to go to treatment and it appeared that someone who was scheduled to go after me was unexpectedly treated by the consultant before me. No explanation was given.

The procedure was the most horrific thing I have ever gone through. The pain was excruciating and despite my screaming and shouting the procedure was not stopped. I have been left traumatised. I will never have a colonoscopy again. The consultant did not come and see me afterwards and although the nurses said I should have had a report by the time I went home, it wasn't done. Therefore I don't know what the initial findings were.

I was given a nice lunch by the lovely nursing staff when I had stopped crying!

Nice hospital, lovely nurses. The actual procedure was barbaric. Never again.
