"Children's ED - quick, caring and thorough"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

We were very impressed with the service we received at Children's ED last Saturday night. Having been sent from the walk-in centre at Loughborough, we were apprehensive as we have never been to this hospital before. First impressions were negative as we were unable to park by ED, signposting was poor (not what you need when panicking about a poorly child) but we eventually found the main car park around the other side of the hospital. Fortunately my daughter felt able to walk but it was a bit of a trek back to A&E. However, once in ED we found the service exemplary. The Doctor who treated my daughter explained to her in a caring and friendly way everything that they were going to do. We left ED feeling confident that all checks had been performed and an answer for her pain but were given a number to call in case my daughter got any worse. We arrived back at the car park to find the whole process had taken less than 2 hours.

Dear reviewer, we would like to thank you for taking the time to comment on the service you received at Children's ED at the weekend.

We have taken note of your comment with regards to the signeage, and this has been passed on to the appropriate department.

We hope that this will be improved, in the not too distant future, as you may or may not be aware we are in the midst of a major re-development of Children's A&E and we are going through a lot of development/building work at the moment.

Your comments with regards to the level of service in ED has been passed on to the team involved.

We appreciate your feedback.

Thank you, Communications Team, Leicester Hospitals.
