"Shocking commuincation problems"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

Doctors/Consultants relay orders and staff nurses do nothing and deny anything and everything. Lots of time wasting and delegation, look me 2 hours to get pain killers I was already prescribed. Ward 409 is a shambles. I moved beds 3 times and had my bed swapped multiple times. There is something strange going on that ward, may be to interested in their Christmas party to be professional. Junior staff were excellent, and doctors very reassuring, rest of them an embarrassment to the NHS.

We're sorry to hear about your experience and that you were unhappy with your care at the hospital. What you describe certainly falls short of what we expect for all our patients.

We'd like to understand a little more about what happened so we can look into this for you. If you'd be interested in doing this, you can contact our PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) team on 0800 953 0667 or pals@ghnt.nhs.uk
