I want to say a huge thank you to the theatre team this morning. I was so worried about the anaesthetic process but I was made to feel very comfortable and was done swiftly.
Once out of theatre I was sent to recovery where I came round and informed promptly that I wasn't going anywhere just yet because my blood pressure was rather low. I felt no pain from the breathing tube and had no recollection of its removal. I was sent to the 2nd recovery area as the ward was full at the time. I was monitored and asked whether I wanted a cup of tea and food. I was also given more pain relief. I was also in a predicament where it was the time of the month and a very lovely nurse helped me out with a very imbarrassing stituation.
Ward 33 was a lovely ward where all the staff were so friendly and made you laugh and smile. The one person I'd like to mention is a member of staff who was running round like a busy little bee but still accommodating. They deserve a special mention.
There are a few things that I wish to recommend. My partner was told he could walk down to theatre with me and told to be back at S.O.D.A ward for 8.30am he was back on time and I had already gone down. When I came out of theatre they didn't inform my partner that it went well and when he should make his way over. I asked to phone him and they oblige but I was still groggy. You can tell there are cuts in the NHS as communication was lost between staff and consultants as I was telling the poor nurses what I needed before I left. More communication to the patient about what is happening about being discharged what be appreciated.
But apart from these few things I would highly recommend the hospital. Thank you for being discreet and respectful about my issue.
