"Removal of left kidney November 13th 2015"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

I was very impressed with my whole experience starting with the member of staff who did my first scan Then the surgeon who preformed my Cystoscopy and then the staff member who explained the result of my scan as a lump had been found on my kidney they did it in a very caring way

I then had a C T scan which led to an appointment with a consultant and they explained very well and the implications of removing my left kidney

During the appointment I said I was going to see my family in South Africa on Jan 10th and was going by ship so they said the surgeon would be able to do it in time for me to go

I then saw anther member of staff who was also very supportive and I imformitive

I was then admitted and the surgeon and their team did my OPP which I can only say thank you to you all

The care I received in ward 15 was excellent and thank you for the follow up call

I can only say thank you to you all Well Done NHS

Response from Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

Dear Mr Novak

From your comment it sounds like you have had quite a worrying time but have really appreciated the support and information provided by the team of doctors, nurses and radiologists looking after you.

I am pleased to hear they were able to see you, diagnose the problem and perform the surgery all in time for you to visit your family in South Africa. I hope you have a really lovely time and are able to put the recent events behind you.

I will pass on your kind comments to those you have mentioned as I know they all appreciate the feedback they receive from their patients.

Thank you for your feedback and I wish you well for the future.

Regards Sue Mellor Head of Patient Engagement
