"shame about one bad apple in the staff"

i had to attend an early morning gynecology appointment to find out if i had cancer this week, i got to the dept early, all the staff were still getting set up for the clinic, each and everyone of them took the trouble to smile and say good morning as they passed by, the consultant was slightly late but not a problem, the consultant and their 2 nurses were lovely, very chirpy and friendly. i got good news and the whole experience was very positive.

i was asked to drop a form into the ultrasound dept on my way out to arrange another scan.

upon arrival at the ultrasound dept there was no other patients at the reception desk, the 2 receptions were just sitting talking quietly so i went up to the desk to hand in the form.

the first receptionist turned and barked at me to get back behind the sign and wait to be called.

they then pretended to be busy and refused to look up or make eye contact with me.

their colleague then kindly called me over, apologised for the 'wait' and took my form.

this rude, obnoxious person spoilt an otherwise pleasant visit and is not a good ambassador for this hospital. fortunately all the other staff i encounted were lovely.
