I was sent to BCH from my local hospital with a suspected stress fracture , the X-ray staff said it wouldn't show on X-ray as stress fractures rarely do , however the nurse refused to treat it as this and I was sent away with advice to take paracetamol . After visiting my GP who was also sure it was a stress fracture told me I had to go back and be treated for this so my husband took me back on the weekend hoping it wasn't the nurses shift. Unfortunately it was and they made me feel very upset by saying " I'm telling you there is nothing wrong with your foot and that the only fracture that doesn't show on X-ray is a bone in the hand . So I left again feeling very upset , still unable to put my foot to the ground and in imence pain. 3 weeks have past still unable to work , let alone walk the doctor sent me to musgrove where they assured me that stress fractures DONT show on first X-ray , they X-ray me and there it was , a stress fracture . I'm now in a walking boot and behind on recovery.
BCH nurse was addiment that they were right , well I was right and think they must need training or shown how to use google !!!!
