I was referred 12 months ago to a consultant at George Eliot.
I saw the consultant in February and was sent for tests. Saw the consultant again in May for the results and I was told that I would need an operation and was sent for further tests, CT scan, nerve tests etc.
Saw the consultant in August and was told the waiting time for the operation was about 12 weeks.
I had my pre-op assessment in October.
After the 12 weeks wait I phone the consultant's secretary who told me that they could not give any indication as to when the op would be.
Today I have received a letter from UHCW requesting that I confirm that I still want to go ahead with the op and remain on the waiting list, if I don't reply within 14 days I will be taken off the list.
I've already been waiting a lot longer than the 18 week target (along with a lot of other people I suspect).
I'm so disappointed because I though the letter was to give me a date for the op, as it's been a year since I was refered, and no-one can tell me how much longer I have to wait in pain.
"Bitterly disappointed"
