Unfortunatley I am quite accident prone or illness prone...whatever you want to call it.
I have had 2 operations in Sunderland Royal Hospital and one in Durham Hospital and had to visit Leeds General Infirmary on several occassions and I have had brilliant service everytime I have had to go to hospital.
Of course you have to wait for a long time in A&E but they are very busy places and under staffed! I cant praise the staff enough for the time and effort that they took to help me and the care I recieved during my stays.
The food isnt as bad as its made out to be and I know when my Dad was in hospital for two weeks he was treated really well and visited regularly by doctors.
The implimentation of the single tv units has helped matters because when I was first in for a hospital stay I had to share a tv and didnt really want to watch the rubbish that was on. At least now you have your own choice. Its a small price to pay if we want more staff and better standards in hospitals.
I am just glad that we dont HAVE to have insurance and I yhope it stays that way or alot of people are going to die because they cant get treated.
When I was in Turkey in October my boyfriend had a bad reaction to the mosquito bites and it cost £80 for him to be put on an IV drip for 30mins! thats why im thankful of the NHS!!!
"Brilliant service every time!!"
