"I was admitted on Monday 21st Nov via a and e ."

About: West Suffolk Hospital

Following a routine out patient appointment at 2.15pm I was sent to casualty to be admitted..

Waited until 6p.m. To be admitted. No info given - all the time I was becoming more anxious and frustrated . All we could do was wait and worry.

Once on F7 all staff were excellent and worked so very hard.

The food was scrumptious!.

However the organisation was chronic. I had to repeat the history to many different staff members - some of the doctors were saying they were unaware as to why I was there as out patients had not forwarded a letter. Six attempts were made to do an ECG by different staff - eventually a nurse came about midnight and did one.

There seemed no plan - not that was shared with me. Just random tests.

Staff really cared, I know that, but It seemed that even the nurses were not sure what was happening at times.

When my wife telephoned about my discharge she was unable to get a definite answer.

I reiterate staff were brilliant and never stopped working hard and showing skill and kindness.

Management need to review the philosophy of F7 and waiting for beds.

Patients should be shown a clear plan after an initial assessment.

I am grateful for all that was done for me but would have liked to have been made of
