"Breast Care"

About: Huddersfield Royal Infirmary

I was referred to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary after having discovered a lump in my breast.

I found all the diagnostic treatment at the hospital to be very good and informative.

I had to wait in between seeing mammography, ultrasound and biopsy but I felt that was only to be expected.

Again, when I returned for my results, I had to wait over an hour but, having worked in a hospital, I know that these waits are often unavoidable.

Both the consultant and my personal nurse treated me with respect and dignity, explaining anything that was needed.

When I returned to both the consultant oncologist and consultant in radiotherapy, I went in on time.

Again, I have no negative thoughts about either consultation.

I felt I was in good hands.

My personal breast nurse is always available for me and I have been given up-to-date information on all aspects of my condition.
