Sadly It has taken me a year to put this feedback online.
The care of my elderly mother from this hospital was actually dreadful.
There is good and bad but obviously at the end of her life the bad is what sits uncomfortably with me. Leaving her in urine soaked clothing and delivering her home for my very elderly father to clean up - they didnt want to know my complaint.
Finally when they sent her home to die (on her request) Didnt tell us she had a bag and we found out by checking her ourselves foudn it to be full.
Gave us a carrier bag of drugs pain relief told us someone would visit- they didnt. Couldnt raise anyone to come and help us. She therefore died without any pain relief or care.
Completely ignored my emails to PALS and complete nonsence of explainations sent over for explaination for lack of care.
Choose another Health Authority area they obviously have serious problems
For those who helped get a great bed at our home for her and delivered her there thank you you were great.
For the nursing staff who failed to turn up regularly as agreed to treat her bed sores etc shame on you.
To the employers of staff who failed to speak or understand any english when I tried to get details of my mothers illness - What are you thinking?
To the PALS office who failed to followup even though I was distraught in my emails and probably a bit rude.. Wheres your empathy?
