"Great Service"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services / Accident and emergency George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had severe back pain two days ago, so I had to seek help at the hospital. I arrived early in the morning being driven there by my wife. We were welcomed by friendly reception staff, "you've come to the right place, we have a great team on this morning who can help you" A student nurse appeared after 10 minutes who communicated well and assured me, taking me to an A&E cubicle. Blood pressure and temperature were taken followed quickly by a doctor. The doctor was Dr Khan. He examined me thoroughly and within a short time had arranged pain killers and an x-ray. Further tests were taken, by further helpful reassuring nurses. At one point both my wife and I were both offered a hot cup of tea, just what we needed. The x-ray was performed by considerate staff aware of my severe pain. Returning to the cubicle, Dr Khan gave further advice regarding medication and how best to deal with my pain. After a short period another doctor who had looked through my x-rays gave further advice before I left . I found the whole experience at the hospital exceptional, I could not fault a single thing about my care. Two days later I find myself slowly recovering, I can only say Thank You by leaving this comment a small thing to do for the Huge thing you did for me.
