About: Mount Vernon Hospital

I was referred to this hospitals pain clinic who in turn arranged for me to have an ultrasound and X-Ray. I had an appointment booked for the ultrasound but the X-Ray was a walk in service. I was expecting to wait hours to get both these done, but in fact was in and out within an hour. The staff on the ultrasound/X-Ray reception were wonderful, so friendly, polite and efficient, I was seen on time for my ultrasound, and once that was done waited only a few minutes before having my X-Ray despite this clearly being a busy department. All the staff involved in both procedures were superb, explaining what would happen and telling me when to expect results etc. I was treated with respect and dignity which is still sadly unusual these days. The hospital facilities were very clean, the disabled toilet in particular was spotless. My local hospital (NPH) could certainly learn a lesson or two from this hospital in terms of being well run, alongside the professionalism, efficiency and helpfulness of the staff.
