I waited for a specialist appointment for more than 2 months. I have a bulging cervical disc and suffering from pins and needles arm pain upper shoulder pain chest pain and stabing pain on my back for the last 6 months. When i went for the appointment, the specialist who saw me was in a hurry. They only spent about 4 minutes. They did not want to listen to me or advise me or did not even want to know where i have the pain, what kind of a pain but shut me up by asking me do you want to have an operation? They asked me nearly 5 times as everytime i opened my mouth to say something. They scared me with this operation tactic instead of explaining what can be done to cure or if i needed an operation. I don't tell them i need an operation but they are supposed to decide by examine me and treat me.
They asked me whether i saw any physio? I told them my physio sent you an email. Straight away they said yeh...i have it. I still dont understand why they asked me about the physio if they already knew about the email. Obviously they did not go through my file. I told them i still have 70% of the pain. They sent a report to me and my GP saying that i have improved 70%. Then they mentioned that i told them i felt pins and needles in october(last month). I never told them that. My GP sent me for MRI scan in august because i have been having pins and needles since july. My GP and physio treated me better than this specialist. They are a waste of space. Wasted my time and robbing NHS. I get this impression that they are using NHS time to do their personal stuffs as this kind of specialists work in private sector. They spent about 4 minutes with me.
They told me they would see me again in 6 months time and they mentioned that on their report as well. But i received a letter from NHS saying that there is an other appointment with them in february which is in 3 months. Joke. Im in lot of pain and off sick from work more than 5 months and i waited patiently with pain for this specialist appointment cos i understand that NHS is in lot of strain. But now i know why NHS is in lot of strain. Worst ever service. Spoke to my GP and asked to refer me to an other specialist. Canceled the appointment with them. i would love to name and shame them but whats the point.
"Worst specialist doctor treatment ever!"
