I have carers twice a day. They help with breakfast and my medication and three times a week I have a shower. If I’ve forgotten it’s a day I’m having a shower and I’ve got up and ready the carers will help me get undressed. My daughter does the cooking for me; I’m not allowed to use the top of my cooker because my hands are shaky and it’s not safe.
It’s a great service; the staff are very nice and it’s mostly the same girls. You can depend on them.
In the mornings they tend to come at the same time, usually quite early. I get a bit anxious on days I’m at the day centre if they come late – this sometimes happens when my usual girl is on holiday.
At night the carers come at different times but this doesn’t matter – mornings are what's important.
"Time of morning appointments is important to me"
