Today at 10:10hrs I dropped off my 86 year old father at the Eye Centre for his annual diabetic eye check. My mother had an appoitnment in the X-ray department at 10:40hrs so I felt I could not really wait with him. Dad stated that he would be happy to walk to the main reception at the front of the hospital and wait for us there when he had finished in the clinic. The receptionist was very considerate and asked if I thought he would be ok to do this (he usually walks a mile each day so I said that he should). Dad met us later in the main foyer and stated that a nurse had kindly taken him up in a lift and walked part way with him through the hospital so that he knew where he was going and did not have to walk outside in the cold and wet.
Thank you for going the extra mile. It was very much appreciated.
