"Maternity Day Assessment"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

In Aylesbury with work. 32 weeks pregnant with limited weight gain. My midwife suggests I call the local Day Assessment Unit for a growth scan as I am a 2 hour drive from my local hospital.

SMH were not interested at all. Just referred me straight back to my "local" NHS.

Didn't ask anything about my pregnancy/problems/reason for referral. Simply said "we're too busy to do any scans" and that was it.

Seems like my baby is in the wrong county to be cared for.

Thank you for your comments.

I am so sorry to read that following advice from your midwife you had called our Maternity Assessment Day Unit for a growth scan and were referred back to your 'local' NHS unit. I can appreciate how unsettling and distressing this must have been for you.

We would like to understand more about your experience, to try and understand how this happened and to learn from your experience of our services.

In the meantime, please be assured I will pass your anonymous comments to the relevant manager for the service.
