"Emergency Ectopic"

About: Kettering General Hospital

My emergency treatment in A&E saved my life, the kindness of A&E, Surgeons, Recovery and Dene Ward was wonderful.

Cleanliness and food should be praised, it was excellent.

The politics of finding a ward to take me and listening to staff reject my admission was saddening.

And finally after loosing a baby and having such a scary experience to be frog marched off the ward by a nurse who came across cold and heartless was a very difficult end to an emotional experience.

I wouldn't wish anyone to be on the Maple Ward after loosing a baby.

It is with great regret that I read about your experience during your admission to Maple Ward in September. I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any distressed caused to you.

We do work hard to ensure that the care given to our patients is of a high standard and that all women and their relatives are cared for with compassion. It is clear from your comments that you feel this did not happened for you.

We really appreciate the opportunity to improve the service we provide and very much value any feedback that can help us to achieve this. Your comments will be discussed with the whole team to reflect on their future practice and also passed on to A&E.

We would be very keen to hear and address your concerns. If you feel you would like to, please contact Laura Chambers, Ward Matron, on 01536 492909 or Polly Leigh, Lead Midwife, on 07540673602.

Thank you for bringing your thoughts to our attention. I am so sorry for your loss.

Polly Leigh Lead Midwife
