St Mary's: visited last week for op. pre-check...told to attend by phone call .
Sent to Orthopaedics. Turns out should have been asking for the Fracture Clinic.Took 15 minutes to find it from exiting Tube on Praed St.
Sign by Tube points down London St not along Praed. Map on wall at Winsland St is half ripped off. Signage too small to be read on buildings from the street. Map says orthopaedics are in a building that actually houses staff payroll. Door opening button at Fracture clinic is 2 foot off the ground, worn out and falling over (large arrows made by staff to point at it make it clear that I'm not the only one who had t, rouble finding it).
Auto sign in for appointment didnt work properly , clinic was running late, so it was 90 minutes before I asked what was going on, 3.5 hours before the doctor saw me as I had been referred from Charing X but notes not sent through.
I shudder to think what it will be like going here when Ch X (superb always) is closed.
BTW had a catarct removed here last February and all was excellent: facilities, staff..just that, again, woeful signage..was wandering round 3rd and 4th floor looking for theatre.
Was in overnight at Hammersmith for parathyroidectomy n August and totally impressed with streamlined procedures, cleanliness, staff.
