"My Hospital Care & Experience"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

At the end of the month of June this year 2015, I was sent into the University of North Staffordshire Hospital directly from my Doctors surgery at Biddulph Doctors to ward SAU 108 where I was operated on the next day, the operation went very well and later on I had recovered enough to speak to my family for a short time.

However shortly after they left it seems that my body crashed, and they had to put me into a Medical Induced Coma to save me in the Intensive Care Unit.

The care I received there was fantastic and as I am here to write this, was very successful , I wish to state that all the Doctors and Nurses and all staff in ICU unit & Ward 108 that looked after me where and are very dedicated and caring and wonderful at all times and work very very hard and you feel very safe in their care as I did under my Consultant (who by the way has a lovely smile), every one involved in the care during my recovery ie: Doctors, Nurses, Stoma Nurses, TV Nurses, Physio, Dietician and all others involved in my stay in the Hospital.

If I have any negative comments, is that under my observation while there, is that there could be more nurses on the wards so they can have the time to give to some of the more demanding care some patients need, to help them recover. It would help take the pressure off the nursing staff who do a wonderful job.

The Cleaning staff on the Ward 108 at the time I was there was very good the ward and other areas where very clean which is important on a surgical ward I watched her clean and she missed nowhere.

I hope this letter is pasted onto all who looked after me and that the administrators take notice of my only negative comment.

A very Happy Patient Mrs M M Dick
