"Dispicable place"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

My son was rushed into A & E after suffering a tear to his fenulum, he lost a lot of blood and promptly fainted whilst in his bathroom , hitting his head quite hard against the tiles stone floor. tHis then resulted in him having a fit. my 16 year old daughter and his gF acted upon instinct and rang for an ambulance, which then took him in. Imagine my shock and horror after an hours drive to him that he was left sat In the waiting room with a sick bowl for 4 and a half hours before triage and another 3 before seeing a dr, whilst I can understand there are more srious cases coming in and he would appear to be less of an emergency, the redness of the reception staff and the triage nurse was not very welcome at a worrying time for us or even other patients waiting their turn. I then was shot down in flames when I dared to ask about he maybe needing a scan for his head injury and was left in no doubt that they didn't do that sort of thing for a simple fainting spell...

Not happy with that and being spoken over whilst I asked the dr I asked them to leave us. The result turning out that he had needed a scan due to a small bleed on his brain... good job my own nursing taught me go with your gut feeling, smile and show some compassion.
