"Sprained American Ankle"

When planning a trip to the UK, one rarely includes a stop at the Hospital.

However, on Wednesday, October 7th, 2015, after an awkward turn of my right ankle at ExCel London, I found it necessary to take a cab to the A&E at RLH, Whitechapel.

After a painfully long, unassisted walk from the cab to the Registration Desk, one of two male attendants eventually took my information and instructed me to wait until I was called.

During the wait...my ankle continued to swell and the pain gradually increased, to the point of tears.

Despite my attempts at courage, an Israeli couple noticed and asked if there was anything they could do to help me; even brought me a bottle of water.

It was about that time an angel appeared through the double doors and called my name.

They immediately noticed my distress and supplied a wheeled chair for transport.

From that moment forward, I just knew...everything was going to be fine.

Their preliminary examination was gentle yet, thorough and they recommended an X-ray.

The X-ray technicians were kind and gentle, as well.

Moments after the X-ray, a most charming person appeared.

To my relief, they assured me the X-ray revealed no broken bones and they fitted me with forearm crutches.

Pain is never enjoyable...yet, the doctors made my Royal London Hospital experience much more bearable.

Everyone should know, these two are very good at their jobs and I wish I could thank them properly.
