"Amazing care for craniosaggital synostosis"

About: Leeds General Infirmary / Neurosurgery Leeds General Infirmary / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

When my son was 6 weeks old my gp couldn't feel for his soft spot on his head which indicates that his skull wouldn't be able to grow probably to allow space for his brain.

We were immediately fast tracked to see a paediatrician at the LGI, we were sent for x Rays to be called later that day to advise us that all was ok and my sons head hadn't fused. We then received an appointment to go back to just go through the x Rays, we were then discharged.

Two weeks later the paediatrician called me to say that he was 100% convinced that it was ok and couldn't let it lie so had booked him an appointment with the neurological team just to get him to check my son.

We got the appointment through and went, a week later he had surgery, the Cranio team (Mr Chumas and his team) were absolutely amazing. I cannot fault them or the staff on ward 52 and high dependency they were all so lovely and looked after my son so well.
