"My son's birth."

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Maternity care Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Maternity care

(as a parent/guardian),

I had a cord prolapse when giving birth to my son. I had an emergency section. My son had a 0 apgar score, and was clinically dead for 5 mins. The team in Cresswell Maternity were amazing, they resuscitated him.

He was then "cooled" and transferred to the Royal in Glasgow. My son is now a thriving 3 year old.

Thank you Trulygratefulmum for sharing your story of what must have been a very traumatic event for you. I am very pleased the hear that your son is now thriving. I will pass on your sentiments to the team at Cresswell whom I know will also be glad to hear positive feedback about your son and that they did their job well.

Regards,

Karen
