"From the time of me going to my ..."

About: Alexandra Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

From the time of me going to my GP and him referring me to the Alex it was 2weeks from that date that i had my first appointment and a month from that date i was due in for my operation.(arthroscopy and lateral release)

What could be improved

The staff in orthopedics have no idea how to get blood from a patient (3 attempts and still nothing when my GP gets blood first time)

Visiting times are ridiculous- 1 hour in afternoon and 1 hour in evening especially when you have family visiting from over 20miles away.

Patientline prices are stupidly high!

Food needs improving but then again when has hospital food been nice. For a fussy eater like myself when chicken or tuna is on the menu and not eating neither there was no other option that just a sandwich (hardly filling)

Anything else?

I was put on ward 16 when all the patients were 50+ i understand that wards are based on the procedure and care required. However being 17 and bored out of my skull aswell as irritatable i did not appreciate the older women gossiping all day. Nor did i like the fact of people gauping at me whilst trying to get myself to the toilet as quick as i can whilst being in tremendous pain and trying to avoid an accident. I would have very much prefered privacy or being around others of a similar age.
