About: South Tyneside District Hospital

i do have time to hospital from time to time obviously due to bad health, the complaints I have are the cereal were soggy,i didn't want cereal I was told I had to have them as they were ordered, the thick was thick like cement, the meals are not fit foe animals, ive recently spent a week in the rvi and their choice of breakfast, choices of meals were first class standard and their nurses were first class as well, can the catering and nursing go to the rvi for training, recently when I was ward three I heard two nurses talking to each other saying that theuy don't get much to talk while at work, they spent the whole time they were together talking together, they don't answer the alarms straight away.they need a big shake up in more ways than one

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices regarding your recent visit to the hospital.

I apologise if the food you received was not up to our usual high standards and will forward your comments on to the Catering Department.

I note also your comments regarding the nurses and will forward these comments to the respective managers in order that they can address the issue.

Kind regards
